Ken Abram established his successful and well-known financial planning practice, The Abram Partnership in 1992. A fluent and captivating public speaker, he has spoken on a number of occasions at the Guardian Financial Services National Conference, and is a regular presenter to the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), Cardiff Business School and Glamorgan University Business School. In May 2002, Ken also addressed the Chartered Management Institute’s National Conference on CPD.
In 1988 he joined the Institute of Management. After 3 years as Treasurer, he went on to be the youngest-ever Chairman of the Institute of Management in Cardiff. The Institute gained its charter status and became known as The Chartered Management Institute (CMI). Ken has been Regional Chairman of the CMI in Wales for 8 years. He served on CMI National Council and the Audit Committee for 3 years. He was a member of the Steering Committee for the Management Charter Initiative.
In February 2000 Ken set up Yes Group Cardiff (www.YesGroupCardiff.co.uk) a personal development group which meets monthly in Cardiff. Ken is a Dynamo Role Model for the Welsh Assembly Government and goes into schools and shares his knowledge with school children who may want to start their own businesses.
