I decided to try the six meal a day version of this diet in order to lose weight a bit faster.

Verdict - Brilliant.  I have lost 6 pounds in the last ten days. 

This is so easy compared to the hard work involved in losing weight in the past.

My total weight loss is now 20 pounds in 7 1/2 weeks.

At last - a diet that works and is easy to follow.

After my 6th week I had lost 14 pounds.  I will happily keep on this diet until I get my weight down to 170-180 pounds.  It's exciting to find a diet  that works and one that I enjoy.

Also, my 18 year old son who weighs in excess of 294 pounds - the scale only goes up to 21 stone - saw that I was losing weight and joined me on the diet three weeks ago. 
He is losing inches around his waist even though we can't weigh him at present.  And he says he will stay on it until the end of the year.

I have lost 7lbs in 2 weeks

I am now well into my second 2 week cycle.  After the first cycle which included 11 days dieting and 3 days pigging it,  I am 7 lbs lighter.  I am looking forward to another 3 days of pigging it this weekend, and then on to another cycle.  Monday morning I will weigh myself and record how much more I have lost.

The photo is my little Yorkie - Lucky - a few years ago.  She is also on a diet .....not this one ..... and goes to her dietician tomorrow.  She says she is not enjoying my diet as she no longer gets little titbits from my plate.

Dietary fats - Omega 3 and prostate cancer

A Harvard report provides some useful information on which fats to eat in order to control your weight, and suggests that omega 3 from fish is OK, BUT warns that omega 3 from plants may contribute to prostate cancer.

Am I crazy to be enjoying a diet?

I chose the foods so I am eating foods that I like.  The combination for each meal is a bit different, but it's fun, and I can eat as much as I want.  Drinking six glasses of water a day is definitely hard - if only it was beer......

Think of your bank account. A positive balance means that you put in more than you take out, and an overdraft results if you spend more than you put in.


Your body is exactly like your bank account, and your weight quite simply will increase if you put in more calories than you spend, and it will decrease if you spend or burn more calories than you put in.


However, there is one major difference. An increasing positive bank balance is healthy. But an increasing and positive calorie balance is unhealthy, because your body keeps storing these excess calories as fat, with a resulting increase in weight.


One way to lose weight is to get an account book and keep a detailed daily record of the estimated calories for everything that you eat on the credit side, and an estimate of all the calories that you burn each day on the debit side.


Estimates of calorie values for food, drink and various forms of exercise are available on many websites and in many diet books.

This is a simple system, I have used it, and it works, but it does require a lot of discipline to record everything in detail.

Their system is based on stimulating your body to burn extra calories because of the combination of foods that you are eating. It is a very flexible system and easy to follow , because you select the foods that you like.

They have three different dieting programs which you can choose from.

The one I like allows me to select what I want to eat from a list, and they generate a menu for each of 4 meals daily for eleven days.  Then I get three days off eating anything I want.


I can repeat this cycle as often as I wish, and although I have never been able to follow any diet, I am enjoying this one and it is working.
